Castle Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a market leading business based on the outskirts of York, North Yorkshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take up this newly created role of Financial Accountant working alongside the Head of Finance and Financial Controller within a fast-paced, manufacturing business.

Reporting into the Head of Finance, key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Manage a small ledger team and ensure accurate financial reporting is completed in a timely and efficient manner
• Finalising the monthly management accounts and submitting to Group in line with the reporting timetable
• Mange the reporting of production hours
• Monthly updating and submission of order intake data
• Preparation of monthly narrative to support accounts submission describing P&L performance, cash movements, order intake, overhead variances and working capital movements
• Preparation and distribution of Management Accounts pack to Senior Leadership teams
• Oversee preparation and distribution of Sales and Expense Trackers
• Undertaking variance analysis to understand the nature of major over/under spends against budget and/or forecast
• Co-ordinate weekly cash flow reporting and provide narrative
• Assist with business planning and reporting
• Reconciliation and reporting relating to the weekly cash forecasting
• Monthly VAT returns
• Annual insurance returns to Group
• Liaison with Internal and External auditors
• Assist in the implementation of the new ERP system
• Assist the Financial Controller and Head of Finance on ad hoc project work

To be considered for this Financial Accountant position and be successful in post, you will need the following:

• CIMA/ACCA/ or ACA qualification or qualified through equivalent experience
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work under pressure and to specified timescales
• Ability to set own deadlines and work without supervision
• Previous managerial experience
• Strong IT skills
