Castle Accountancy & Finance are looking for an experienced, commercially focused Finance Manager / Director to join an expanding retail business based in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. Working closely with the Managing Director, this newly created role will form an integral part of the senior management of this exciting and growing business.
The responsibilities of the Finance Manager / Director will encompass the following;
- Working in a fast-paced highly customer focused environment
- Prepare monthly management accounts, pre-payments and accruals
- Preparing P&L budgets
- Prepare annual and quarterly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow budgets and forecasts
- Work closely with internal functions to set departmental budgets
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports
- Carry out cost saving reviews
- Ensure correct financial controls are in place
- Maintain the ledgers and carry out credit control duties
- Prepare VAT, EC Sales and HMRC returns
- Preparing online banking payments as required
- Responsibility for IT infrastructure and systems requirements
The successful Finance Manager / Director will have:
- ACCA / CIMA /ACA qualification; or be qualified by equivalent relevant experience
- A strong focus on high standards and quality customer care
- Excellent IT skills including MS Office; particularly strong Excel skills
- Be familiar with Sage Line 50 accounting software
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for accuracy and detail
- Confident communication skills with a professional telephone manner to deal with customers and suppliers
- Willingness and flexibility to support wider tasks arising within a small team
- Be a real team player with the desire to further develop skills as the business continues to grow
- Previous experience of working in a retail focused environment
