Goondir Health Services is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Service (ATSICCHS) that requires a Full Time GP Registrar for its St George Clinic. Support will be provided by an onsite Supervisor.

Previous employment within Indigenous Health would be an advantage but not essential.

The successful applicant will deliver GP services focusing primarily on Indigenous clients including assessment, examination, treatment, and case management within a Primary Health Team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards whilst demonstrating high levels of professionalism and integrity, be an innovative thinker and apply high moral and ethical standards to ensure confidentiality is maintained.

Practice Demographics:

Clinic is a fully equipped medical facility, with 2 consulting rooms and 1 treatment room. We have 1 full time RN/ Clinic Manager and 1 part time RN. There are 2 Aboriginal Health Workers, 1 medical receptionist, 1 transport officer and 1 cleaner.

Community Information:

500 km inland from Brisbane, situated on the Balonne River in southern Queensland. The District population is approx. 3,800 people.

A variety of quality education and health services are available. These include childcare, preschools, primary schools, high school and a skill centre. Health services include 3 medical centres, hospital, allied health services, specialist visits, healthy ageing program, home and community care and a retirement village. A variety of shopping is available with two large grocery stores - Foodworks and IGA, a great bakery and numerous coffee shopts.

A full range of lifestyle and sporting activities are available. Team sports - football of various codes, dragon boating and netball. Individual sports such as tennis, squash and golf. Horse sports - pony club, camp drafting and polocrosse are available.
