Civil Project Manager

Civil Project Manager (BBBH5059) Christchurch, New Zealand


I am working with a market leading civil contractor that specialises in deep drainage, civil structures and pipeline projects across the South Island.


They have a strong reputation in the South Island market and have secured a busy forward workload for the upcoming year in Christchurch and around the rest of the South Island. To manage this, they are now looking to bring on an experienced Project Manager. You will be based out of their Christchurch office and lead their drainage crews while delivering high quality projects, with the possibility of some away work.


This is an opportunity for someone to push forward in their career in a role that will provide them with the chance to really influence and build the day to day project operations in a supportive, close knit environment. The right candidate will receive all the necessary ‘tools’, such as a ute, a phone, and dependant on experience a 6-figure salary package could be available.


About you:

  • Previous experience with managing the project operations
  • Effective supervision of personnel, plant, machinery and subcontractors on site
  • Exposure to civil construction and infrastructure construction - ideally drainage
  • Demonstrated success in managing performance, in order to meet and exceed agreed targets
  • Successful track record with planning, organising and time management
  • Proven ability to drive accountability throughout the workforce, including the implementation of robust processes
  • Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or civil construction management
  • Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and initiative
  • Demonstrated ability with building relationships with key stakeholders
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

Applicants with direct experience in a drainage project management role will be considered first initially. Then those with a civil background outside of drainage, that can demonstrate a high level of leadership and project delivery.
