Configuration Analyst

Configuration Analyst (OKN-CA) City Of Manchester, England

Salary: GBP28000 - GBP30000 per annum + Bens

My client is a leading retailer looking for a Configuration Analyst (Asset Management) to support the Service Management team in establishing and maintaining Configuration Management process.  You will be responsible for maintening the Configuration Managament Database (CMDB) and ensuring that audit and compliance requirements are met.

Generally, you will 

  • Develop the Configuration Management process and policies
  • Work with the Service Management team, Service Delivery Managers and Architects to develop, design and architect the CMS
  • Conducts the lifecycle management for assets including hardware, software licenses and warranties. This includes managing usage, disposal, compliance, inventory and cost optimisation of the asset portfolio
  • Ensures relationships between Configuration Items and Services are fully understood and documented
  • Identify and explore opportunities for service and business improvement, ensuring maximum value from services
  • Takes ownership of audits of the CMS and ensure discrepancies are identified and remediated in a timely manner

Ideally, you wil have

  • Knowledge of a broad range of technologies and how they underpin services
  • 2+ years working in a service support environment with significant exposure to Configuration Management processes
  • Good knowledge of Configuration Management processes, tools and techniques
  • Able to Identify KPIs and other quality measures as part of the Configuration Management process.
  • Good understanding of all ITIL service disciplines – i.e. Incident, Problem, Change & Release
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office products
  • Ability to work well under pressure, ensuring a structured, analytical approach and exceptional attention to detail is always maintained
  • Demonstrable ability to plan, prioritise and co-ordinate own activities
  • Good team player able to deputise for other ITIL service roles
  • Good communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
