Position Overview
Mentor’s Information Technology department strategically supports our engineers and corporate staff in more than 75 offices and R&D centers around the globe. Act as the Business Process Analyst for Mentor's IT Enterprise Software Solutions group. Create a knowledge base of corporate business process documentation for Lead to Cash, Hire to Term, Purchase to Pay and Financial Accounting with the distinct purpose of improving process quality in terms of productivity, efficiency and cost.
Responsibilities:
•Liaise with business process owners and their technology partners
•Build working understanding of the organization's policies, procedures and business practices
•Business process documentation, modeling, design and analysis of end to end processes using formal process notations.
•Build working knowledge of, and represent via documentation, the business service layer of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
•Business Process data flow definition and documentation and the interaction within the business process
•Definition of process business rules driving process workflow and decisions
•Definition of business process metrics for quality and performance
•Providing insight and recommendations for process improvement opportunities
•Develop and maintain working knowledge of Mentor Graphics business application and their functions used in the business processes
•Assist in the definition of process documentation governance to maintain process documentation standards over time.
•Provide training for and communicate process standards and governance requirements to all relevant business and technical resources
Job Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred (additional professional experience in lieu of degree is acceptable)
•5 + years experience in business process documentation, design and analysis, business process workflow.
•5 + years experience as a proven business analyst – a technical background desirable.
•Possesses a structured, process-oriented, problem solving mentality.
•Skills in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
•Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for information gathering and the proven ability to interact with various levels of the organization from executive staff to individual contributors.
•Proven experience to work in a complex and matrixed team environment.
•Proven experience to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines.
•Excellent facilitation, training and presentation skills.
•Proven experience to understand IT projects and concepts as they relate to high-level business objectives, and business processes and the ability to present those concepts to both IT and non-IT audiences in a concise and easily understandable manner.
•Knowledge of SAP business application platforms (CRM, SRM, ECC) a plus.
•Experience with screen capture technologies
•Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle
