Position Overview
The PCB Analysis Product Specialist will be part of the Americas System Design team and will support sales account teams across the region. Location is open but some preferences include Fremont, San Diego, Longmont and Dallas. As a PCB Analysis Product Specialist, you will be contributing to the success of Americas’ accounts as well as accounts from other regions. Primary responsibility will be on Mentor tools that support analysis and simulation of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Responsibilities Include:
•Enabling customers to significantly improve their electrical design processes by the adoption of Mentor Graphics’ design automation tools.
•Uncovering and assessing customer’s existing processes and tools for signal integrity, power integrity, EMI and thermal analysis as well as analog simulation of printed circuit boards and/or electronic package designs.
•Articulating the improvements and return on investment of applying new processes and tools for printed circuit board analysis and simulation.
•Enabling customers, in both pre- and post-sales situations, to use and deploy Mentor Graphics software for PCB analysis and simulation. This would include attaining new customers as well as broadening the use of Mentor Graphics analysis solutions in existing accounts.
•Responsible for ensuring the Americas sales teams are well-educated on new analysis product introductions and/or product updates.
•Developing market segment and technical account strategies to accelerate the growth and adoption of Mentor Graphics best-in-class printed circuit board analysis and simulation products.
•Working collaboratively with marketing and engineering teams in the System Design Division to communicate customer needs to drive product enhancements and future product roadmaps.
Job Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
•BS degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering is required. MSEE degree highly preferred.
•Must have a combination of at least 10+ years industry experience in printed circuit board design, analysis and/or sales.
•Industry expertise and hands-on experience with signal integrity, power integrity, EMI and thermal analysis tools for system designs involving complex, multi-layer, high-speed digital, mixed signal and/or RF circuit boards.
•Experience with 3D field solvers and a thorough knowledge of S-parameters is highly desired (Ansys HFSS, Agilent ADS, CST MWS, Allegro SI. IE3D).
•General knowledge and exposure to schematic capture and PCB layout tools also required.
•Ideal candidate will have specific experience with PCB and analysis tools from Mentor Graphics ( DxDesigner, Expedition, HyperLynx), Cadence ( Concept HDL, Orcad, Allegro PCB SI, APD, SiP), Zuken ( CR-8000, CR-5000, CADSTAR, Lightning) or similar.
•Experience with associated flows such as component library management, data management, analog simulation and/ or complex FPGA design is a plus.
•Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport and credibility with customer organizations while maintaining a company internal network of contacts.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
