Position Overview
Mentor’s Information Technology department strategically supports our engineers and corporate staff in more than 75 offices and R&D centers around the globe. Our vision is to deliver exceptional services by results oriented employees through innovative, cost-effective, global solutions developed in collaboration with our customers.
This is a critical role in Mentor’s global IT organization. You will be the SharePoint architect and visionary for our internal business units and product divisions . You’ll work with business partners to develop solutions and process automation within SharePoint. In addition, you’ll provide technical operations and platform support.
Responsibilities Include:
•Team Leadership
•Work with and lead technical & high performance systems, apps, and database teams
•Assess team member abilities and allocate tasks accordingly (in concert with Sr. Architect and Project Managers)
•Monitor development activities
•Regularly report the status and progress of development activities
•Identify development issues and resolve/escalate in concert with team members
•Support System Integration and UAT
•Manage defect and issue resolution
•Lead technology assessments
•Produce code / scripts / configurations as required
•Support, train and mentor developers (strong coaching skills)
•Demonstrate leadership experience as well as the ability to lead a group of administrators and developers.
•Manage third customer and project requirements
Job Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
•BS degree in Computer Science (or similar) or equivalent additional work experience.
•5+ years experience in application and project leadership with a focus on SharePoint architecture and administration.
•Proven technical experience designing and scaling SharePoint environments
•Strong analytical thinking and problem solving
•Strong technical skills in business portal architecture and platform diesgn,
•Technical expertise in SharePoint 2007/2010 and related standards and tools
•Technical expertise in PowerShell scripting for SharePoint server deployment
•Knowledge of SOA and Web Services
•Able to work independently.
•Ability to anticipate potential problems, determine and implement solutions.
•Ability to step outside role confines and help teach and enable other team members
•Comfortable developing statements of work and working with external consultants
•Knowledge of MS Windows, MS SQL, work flows, web forms, and internet technologies
