The Sales Specialist will provide technical selling support to the Transportation Sector Team. As a Sales Specialist, you will be contributing to the success of a team of product specialists and account managers by increasing the deployment of Mentor Graphics software in the Americas’ region accounts. Primary focus will be on Mentor tools that support electrical system design for the Transportation Industry (Automotive/Military Aerospace) including Capital, SystemVision, and Mentor’s legacy electrical/harness design tools: TransDesign and LCable.
•Understanding and contributing to Mentor Graphics’ strategy in the Transportation market
•Enabling customers to use and deploy Mentor Graphics software for electrical system design in pre and post sales situations.
•Assisting Account Managers to determine sales execution strategy by identifying and qualifying the match-up between customer needs and Mentor Graphics’ software products.
•Developing and maintaining technical sales plans for every account being engaged.
•Supporting sales activity with product demonstrations, evaluations, and competitive benchmarking.
•Providing technical support to customers including technical problem resolution and training.
•Communicating customer’s technical requirements to product marketing.
•Assisting customers with their software evaluations and benchmarks.
•Travel will be involved within the Americas region (65%)
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
•BS degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar) is required.
•Must have 5 years of electrical system (and/or electrical harness) design and project management experience.
•Hands on experience with electrical systems and harness design tools in the Automotive and Aerospace markets.
•Experience with Mentor Capital or other electrical system design tools/flows is desirable.
•Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport and credibility with customer organizations while maintaining a company internal network of contacts.
•Experience with associated flows such as library management, data management design is a plus.
•Strong written and verbal skills are required
