Are you an experienced recruiter looking for the flexibility to work from home, with evening hours?  Hudson is hiring a recruiter to work evenings and be on call on weekends.

In collaboration with the daytime recruiting team, the Evening/Weekend/Holiday Recruiter is responsible for handling all recruiting functions between the hours of 4:00 PM and 12:00 Midnight, Monday through Friday as well as all day on the weekends.  This is an “on-call” position with work to be performed on an as-needed basis.

  • Respond to all emails, phone calls, and voicemails from clients and candidates.
  • Inform clients when candidates are late or absent, as needed.
    • We typically employ hundreds of people at any given time, so nearly every day several people will be delayed in getting to work and/or will miss work altogether.
  • Release candidates from projects, as needed.
    • Candidates are typically released from projects after hours, ideally by telephone.
  • Assist in staffing projects, as needed (not as common as the duties listed above, but not rare).
    • This includes 1) helping finalize the staffing of projects that had been started during the day by the daytime recruiting staff, and 2) beginning the staffing of projects that come in after hours.  Members of the daytime recruiting staff are always available to assist whenever necessary.
  • Provide a daily wrap-up email to the daytime recruiting staff summarizing everything that took place during the Evening/Weekend Recruiter’s shift.

  • Weekdays (Monday – Thursday):  4:00-Midnight.
  • Weekend (Friday – Monday):  5:00 p.m. Friday – 9:00 a.m. Monday (on call as needed three weekends per month)
  • Holidays:  Other than with prior approval to take time off, the Evening/Weekend Recruiter is expected to cover all Hudson holidays.  When the office closes early for holiday weekends, work starts when the office closes.
  • Evening/Weekend/Holiday Recruiter is entitled to one weekend off per calendar month.  For the purposes of this provision, the weekend begins at midnight Friday night and lasts until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.  In other words, the Evening/Weekend/Holiday recruiter is off all day Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of such weekends.  The monthly weekend off is selected by the Evening/Weekend/Holiday Recruiter, subject to approval by the daytime recruiting team.  For planning purposes, the ideal arrangement is to have a standing weekend off per month (e.g., the third weekend of each month), subject of course to modification to accommodate the needs of both the Evening/Weekend/Holiday Recruiter and the daytime recruiting staff.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines under high pressure.
  • Ability to take initiative and think outside of the box.
  • Willingness to work long hours and late nights.
  • Exceptional maturity and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to represent Hudson in a professional manner, both in writing and over the telephone, to our candidates and clients.
    • Ability to deliver bad news (e.g., “Your assistance is no longer required on the project”) with compassion and empathy.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work exceptionally hard when needed, knowing that there will be down time on other days.
