The Structured Settlement Associate: • Assists structured settlement brokers, Agents, annuitants, payees and contract holders in the resolution of administrative issues. • Responds to general written and oral inquiries concerning products features, contract provisions and related laws and administrative procedures. Demonstrates a proactive, solution-based approach to enhance client relations. Consults with management about complex compliance and legal situations. • Establishes new sales in payout system. • Proactively manages assigned caseload of new and in-force business and performs good order review prior to submission to document review team. • Maintains productive relationships with broker firm back offices. • Effectively handles inbound and outbound phone calls from/to brokers, firm back offices and annuitants/payees. • Processes commissions for brokers and Agents and analyzes and resolves commission problems. • Processes routine financial and non-financial activity on client accounts with both expediency and accuracy. This includes a wide range of routine service requests for contract holders, such as death claims, change of address, change of beneficiary and factored payment inquiries. Processes accounting entries as requested by INV Accounting Division. • Handles premium payments within our systems. • Participates on special projects as assigned by management. Scope/Accountability • Performs work with a high degree of accuracy, adheres to internal controls and procedures and complies with regulations and/or statutes while meeting high quality customer service standards. • Must be aware of the inherent risks surrounding financial discrepancies and errors, and understand potential loss outcomes of inaccurate handling. • Authorized disbursements up to $300,000. • Responsible for completing assignments in a timely manner and performing duties in accordance with established procedures. Communications/Contacts • Internal contacts include Investment Group- Finance, OGC and Corporate Audit. Position must also interface with management and report on status of various assignments/open and resolved issues. • External contacts may include annuitants, policyholders, brokers, Agents and representatives of banks and other financial institutions.
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent and related work experience • Strong problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • The ability to work in a team environment with flexible parameters • Strong attention to detail • MS Office proficiency
• Four years of related experience • Structured Settlement knowledge a plus • Knowledge of immediate annuities • Knowledge of all annuity systems
