Business Intelligence Development Engineer (BBBH530) Louisville, Kentucky

Our customer has an immediate need for an exceptional individual to join their family as a Development Consultant Level I (Business Intelligence). This opportunity will be based out of Cincinnati, OH or our corporate office in Louisville, KY. The position will report to the VP of Development. The Development Consultant Level I provides consultation and direction in the use of technology to meet strategic and tactical business goals for assigned customers and assists with the development and delivery of the proposed solution. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, is a true team player with a commitment to success, has leadership skills, and will be able to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly-changing environment.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the successful completion of project initiatives on-time and within budget; completing project plans and maintaining project schedules
  • Provide pre-sales technical support, including completing technical aspects of the proposal/statement of work
  • As the client's trusted advisor, identify and pursue additional opportunities
  • Transfer knowledge to customers as part of the delivery of services and through classroom instruction
  • Mentor less experienced consultants and/or students/interns
  • Aware of customer desired business outcomes from engagements
  • Seeks new business opportunities with existing clients; shares ideas with Senior and Principal
  • Assists Principal and Senior in assessing customer needs
  • Regularly updates on-site client contact about project status; handles routine and some serious customer concerns, involving Senior or Principal as needed
  • Overnight travel approximately 25%

    Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience/knowledge
  • 1 Year using SSIS
  • 1 Year using SSRS
  • 2-3 Years with SQL Server
  • Proficient knowledge of and working experience with HTML, C# or Visual Basic (C# preferred), Microsoft SQL server, .NET framework, ASP.NET, and llS
  • Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently/self-reliant and show initiative with minimum supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and apply appropriately to business situations
  • Strong team player who enjoys working in a fast paced team atmosphere
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
  • Ability to work under pressure; meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to listen effectively and seek clarification
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Must be able to effectively and comfortably communicate with all types of individuals from the customer technical expert to the customer executive management
  • 2+ Microsoft Certifications
  • U.S. citizenship required for U.S. based employees

  • Experience with SSAS
  • Knowledge of Kimball Methodology
  • Knowledge of database optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of ETL and Report best practices and optimization
  • Knowledge of SP use and development
  • Knowledge of C# or VB.NET
  • Preferred Certifications: MCTS in Database Development or BI, MCITP for BI
