Technician II (2192161) (BBBH488) Phoenix, Arizona

This role is responsible for implementation and deployment of customer requirements. In addition, this person will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the IP network solutions for customers as well as internal operations. This technician is a telecommunications transmission technical expert and will have some experience and knowledge in at least one of the other technical disciplines (SONET /TCP/IP). GENERAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in a team environment, and communicate with customers in a professional manner TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Preferably gained in a telecom/ISP environment, proven knowledge of transmission equipment - Mechanical and Electrical cross connects. Proven working knowledge of TCP/IP, IP addressing and ARIN/RIPE regulations. Demonstrable understanding of Internet services; DNS, Mail (SMTP) and News. Working knowledge of CISCO products and configurations to CISCO Associate level. Working knowledge of Laurel products and configuration. Working knowledge of WAN routing protocols at layer 2 and 3. Understanding of LAN technologies - IP, IPX, Novell. Be proficient in DACS, ADM's and Centest Equipment (or similar testing equipment). A TCAM is a skilled troubleshooter and should be capable of training less experienced technicians. Should have very good knowledge of both Sonet, SDH and DWDM. Need to have working experience of at least 3 of our vendor's equipment and their management platforms. (Alcatel, Ericsson, Fujitsu or Nortel). EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 2-5 years networking experience. Strong understanding of network design and provisioning process required, knowledge of internal systems highly preferred. P.C. literate, including MS Suite preferred EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: BS Degree or equivalent work experience, CCNA Required, CCNP a Plus.Technical School or Military equivalent major
