Full-Stack Java Developer Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Full-Stack Java Developer for an opportunity in Cottage Grove, WI. As a Full-Stack Java Developer you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. The Java Developer will work in small product focused teams delivering business specific technical solutions while working in partnership with other software development engineers, product owners and quality assurance staff. Our client is looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments. He or she will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology’s effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. Successful candidates will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance and maintain existing and new modules within our Business Solutions software platform
• As a key member of our development team you will be involved in all tiers of the solution, UI, middle tier and backend database and participate in full SDLC
• We are relying on your senior level innovative problem solving and demonstrated software development skills using a variety of Open Source and Enterprise level technologies.
• Significant individual contributor performing both application design and coding
• Primary coding language will be Java where you will consistently write, translate, re-factor, and code software programs and applications according to specifications provided by our Solution Architects
• Work with our System Administrators and other Software Development Engineers to assist in trouble shooting and resolving complex problems within our SaaS platform
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings, planning meetings, and review sessions (using Scrum/Agile methodology)
• Develop and maintain automated tests, helping to improve software quality through automated and manual testing
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Mentor less experienced engineers
• Understand the business operations and processes on assigned projects
• Work across both project roadmap initiatives, as well as production systems support
• Production Systems Support and on-call dues maybe required in this role

Requirements:

• 3+ years of Java development experience
• 2+ years in web development with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• Experience creating and consuming Restful and/or SOAP API's
• Proven experience using dependency injection with Jersey and/or Spring framework
• Proven experience using Hibernate
• Proven experience creating and implementing SQL
• Strong knowledge of Web 2.0 development practices with a focus on Java
• Must possess a strong understanding of OO design principles and patterns
• Persuasive, collaborative business acumen with the ability to drive business partners strategically
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Resiliency in the face of changing priorities and requirements
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Initiative, results-oriented drive and a solid work ethic requiring minimal direction
• Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with utilizing and implementing the Atlassian Suite, such as Jira and/or Confluence
• Experience using a variety of agile practices, including: stand-ups, pairing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, retrospectives and whole-team
• Experience working on applications that leverage Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Experience with AngularJS, NodeJS, and/or related JavaScript libraries
