Datawarehouse Engineer Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Datawarehouse Engineer for an opportunity in Madison, WI. This is a Direct Hire and the Datawarehouse Engineer must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.  

The Datawarehouse Engineer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our Data Warehouse. He or She will also design and maintain operational data store and reporting data structures. This includes creating and maintaining ETL processes from multiple sources. The candidate will design and maintain data models, data dictionaries and business reports that are easily consumed by our stakeholders.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with our stakeholders, DBAs and software engineers to refine project scope and definition
• Design and develop ETL data and event driven packages
• Utilize ETL and Data Warehouse development best practices
• Understand the business operations and processes on assigned projects
• Create and maintain strategic documentation in support of the Data Warehouse
• Assist in the design and development of the Data Warehouse
• Design and maintain effective business intelligence reports by retrieving, analyzing, and transforming data
• Work with our System Administrators and other Software Engineers in trouble shooting and resolving complex problems within our SaaS platform
• Work across both project roadmap initiatives as well as production systems support
• Production Systems Support and on-call dues maybe required in this role

Requirements:

• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
• Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
• 5+ years' of experience designing databases
• 2+ years' of experience with data-driven and event-driven ETL processes
• 5+ years' of experience with SQL and Stored Procedure development
• 2+ years' of experience with Unix Shell scripting
• 2+ years' of experience working with MySQL or MariahDB
• 3+ years' of experience designing and maintaining business intelligence reports
• Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Must possess the ability to work in a dynamic environment
• Must possess initiative, results-oriented drive and a solid work ethic requiring minimal direction
• Must possess effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Must possess resiliency and flexibility in the face of changing priorities and requirements
• Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience working with a large data warehouse
• Experience with Pentaho product suite or similar
• Experience using a source code repository such as Subversion
• Experience with Amazon Redshift
• Ability to identify and resolve data related issues via SQL performance tuning
