Castle Engineering and Manufacturing are working with a highly reputable, market leading FMCG business based in Scarborough who are recruiting an experienced Mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer. Working as part of a well organised and growing maintenance team on site where investment in machinery and training is plentiful. The successful Mechanical Engineer will be involved in both reactive and planned maintenance activities across the site.

The successful Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for:

• Attending production machinery breakdowns and diagnosing mechanical faults.
• Rectifying mechanical faults and updating Operations staff on downtime.
• Carrying out planned maintenance across the plant.
• Machinery installations and machinery moves across the plant.
• Working on a number of CI projects.

To be suitable for this role candidates will be time served and hold a minimum of a level 3 engineering qualification. You will have excellent mechanical fault finding skills and have worked within an FMCG environment before. Ideally you will understand the principals of LEAN manufacturing and have a positive proactive attitude towards your work. You will be a good communicator and you will be able to work across both days and nights.
