Castle Engineering are working with a market leading, growing and diverse food manufacturing business based in South Yorkshire who are recruiting an Engineering Manager to join their growing team. This role is heavily involved in team management and will have responsibility for managing  numerous capital projects.

The role:

Working Monday to Friday- to £55,000

• Reporting into the Site Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the day to day management of the engineering team (30) You will work with you shift leaders to ensure a clear and consistent message and communications are delivered to your team ensuring all staff have access to the best training available to them.
• You Will be instrumental in delivering capital projects across the site from budget management to completion of the projects. You will work closely with the Site Engineering Manager to ensure all capital projects are well planned and executed well.
• You will be responsible for driving CI initiatives across the site and working with machine manufacturers to ensure production machinery is working as effectively and efficiently as it could.
• You will have responsibility for ensuring the PPM schedule is fit for purpose, continually monitoring and qualifying the maintenance plan across the factory.
• You will be a proactive leader who can engage with a large engineering team ensuring that all staff receive excellent communications daily, that production meetings are effective and that the engineering team work alongside production to meet and exceed the business needs and demands.

The candidate:

To be successful in this role you will have worked within the food sector previously and have worked within a continuous production environment which is fast paced and highly automated. You will have excellent leadership skills and have the desire to develop your career. You will have professional engineering qualifications and have managed / supervised larger engineering teams preferably.
