Castle Food Manufacturing are recruiting an experienced H&S Manager with training and development experience to join a leading growing food manufacturer in North Yorkshire. As the Health and Safety Manager on site you will be responsible for the management and development of the H&S program throughout the business and the management of 2 internal trainers.
The role:
- Proactive management of all H&S issues across the site throughout the business and drive a culture change focusing on quality.
- Provision of management and KPI information as required
- Undertaking risk assessments as required
- Be responsible for ensuring that all safety legislation is adhered to and policies and practices are adopted
- Review Health and safety training plans, and sourcing cost effective solutions
- Creation of a planned process of work that minimises risks, operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries.
- Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
- Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers, including highlighting areas of risk and areas for improvement
- Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases
The successful H&S Manager will ideally have worked within a food manufacturing or FMCG business and be an experienced trainer. You will be qualified IOSH level 2 as a minimum and ideally have your NEBOSH certification.
You will be a team player that is proactive and you will be able to drive a culture change through training activities. You will have excellent communication skills and be a confident decision maker.
This role requires a highly self motivated and driven H&S Manager who can lead by example.
