Castle Engineering are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a fast paced food manufacturing business based in Northallerton.

The successful Maintenance Engineer will work as part of an engineering team on shift covering reactive and planned maintenance activities. Your role will include:

• Carrying out fault finding diagnosis and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Planned and unplanned maintenance of high speed production machinery such as pumps, filling systems, and packaging equipment such as flow wrappers, check weighers, metal detectors, shrink / stretch wrappers, glue and heat sealing systems, ink jet carton erectors / closers.
• You will be involved in project related tasks including machinery strip down and re-builds as well as modifications and installations.

The candidate:

You will be a time served engineer with strong mechanical maintenance skills, you will be able to think on your feet and enjoy seeking out better and more effective ways of working. You will enjoy working in a fast paced environment and relish the challenge this throws at you.

Shifts: 4 on/ off days and nights

Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 depending on experience
