Shift Production Manager

Shift Production Manager (VC7973) York, England

Salary: GBP35000 - GBP40000 per annum + additional benefits

Shift Production Managers required for our growing food production plant based in York. As the Shift Production Manager you will be working on a Monday to Friday double days shift pattern or be interested in working on a nights shift pattern. The successful Shift Production Manager will report into the site Factory Manager and you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of colleagues to achieve excellent standards in quality, productivity and performance.
  • To control budgets and be instrumental in supporting department labour and raw material budget.
  • To monitor weekly throughput.
  • To manage KPI performance 
  • Communicate with colleagues to ensure a two way information flow.
  • Coach, train and mentor the team to improve overall performance.
  • Champion and encourage colleague engagement.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Manage performance reviews.

 

This opportunity requires proven managerial and technical expertise, to ensure your area of responsibility exceeds all KPI targets. You will be responsible for driving performance and implementing a lean culture, therefore making a vital contribution to the overall site business plan.
In order to succeed, you must be able to demonstrate experience of the following:

  • The ability to lead a team to achieve excellent standards in quality, productivity and performance, supported by the skill to communicate and influence effectively; coach, mentor and develop accordingly.
  • A background of driving performance to deliver results, ideally using lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills and proven decision making, with the capability to manage and implement change and project manage initiatives effectively

  • Proven record of delivering excellent results through a team
  • Determination and a will to succeed with a drive to achieve performance standards
  • Excellent people management skills and the ability to influence effectively.
  • Experience within a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills

  • To be capable of project managing initiatives effectively

Degree standard of education, or be able to demonstrate successfully, the ability to operate at a high level within a world class manufacturing setting
