Hire Controller (AHC12) Purfleet, England
| Salary: | GBP20000 - GBP23000 per annum + Up to £3k bonus, 25 days holiday |
Leading plant hire firm looking for an experienced hire controller in Essex! Up to £23k basic for the right candidate, working for an expanding & driven firm!
The Company:
- Market-leading, multi depot, highly regarded global construction equipment supplier.
- Products include non-mechanical plant such as scaffolding, access towers, light access, fencing & barriers, groundworks, ladders, work platforms, high visibility barriers, PPE & ground protection.
- Working for a highly successful depot, with an outstanding manager who has excellent knowledge of the plant hire industry.
The Role:
- As a hire controller, you will be supporting the Branch Manager in branch sales working with a team of 5, with a turnover of several million pounds per annum.
- You be targeting construction companies in Essex. These companies will be contractors, drylining contractors, fire protection contractors and others.
- You will complete hire contracts, delivery/collection notes to enable delivery and/or collections to be made as and when the client requires.
- You will spend time serving customers on the trade counter, as well as reactive and proactive telephone calls.
- You will liaise with the Branch Field sales representative, pass leads and on occasion book appointments.
- The role could lead to field sales or branch management in time.
The Successful Candidate:
- My client needs you to come from within the industry, so you must have knowledge of plant / tool hire.
- The ideal candidate needs to be meticulously organized. You must also be confident in your ability and have good decision making skills under pressure.
- You must be hardworking, a good team player, looking for a career. Since we are recruiting for an international company, there are clear growth prospects.
- You will be able to multi-task in a busy sales environment. A good memory, organised, a good sense of humour but professional. Ideally able to drive with own transport as the branch is in outside the city centre on a large site.
The Salary:
- Basic Salary of £20k-£23k dependent on experience
- Possibility of performance related bonus of up to £3k extra per year, based on branch performance and profitability.
- 25 days holiday

- Standard working hours of Monday-Friday 730-5 with an hour for lunch.
