Customer Service Representative (1768BR) Kentucky, USA

Salary: USD32000 - USD42000 per year + medical, dental, life, 401(k)

Provides customer service by responding to customer inquiries (order status, pricing issues, change orders, general technical assistance, etc.). Checks inventory and notify stock control departments of orders that would deplete stock. 

 

Routes orders to departments for filling and follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.

 

Computes price, discount, and shipping charges.  Prepares invoices and shipping documents such as bill of lading.  Recommends type of packing or labeling needed on order.

 

Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.  Edits orders received for price and nomenclature. Receives and checks customer complaints. 

 

Confers with other departments on production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.  Enters data into computer to determine total cost for customer. 

 

Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules as available through current computer systems.

 

Compiles statistics and prepares various reports for management as needed.

 

Builds and maintains customer relationships.

 

Promotes team work among team members and internal customers.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, product catalogs, price books and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions and percentages. 

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding how to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Ability to proficiently utilize existing systems for communication, reporting and internet use.
