Job Title: Director Digital and PR for Prestige Professional Brands
This position will be responsible for the Digital and Social Media Strategy and internal and external Media and PR initiatives for Kerastase and Shu Uemura Art of Hair (PPB), including proactive and reactive public relations, media planning, trade show and local market events for both trade and consumer media. This role is responsible for managing daily relationships with outside agencies. all digital content and functionality on the websites, including the professional website. In addition, this role needs to liaise on a daily basis with other groups within PPB Marketing, Education and Sales to ensure our initiatives are fully integrated and communicated to the press and other digital outlets, and across Professional Products Division and L’Oreal. This position will also have to established strong realtionships with other digital counterparts within the L”Oreal network to exchange best practices and KPIs benchmarks as well as staying in tune with new technology developments and recommending strategic partnerships for the brands. Several years of Beauty industry is preferred and a strong background in digital strategy and Media and PR planning is required. In addition, someone comfortable with a fast-paced environment, juggling regularly shifting priorities, with a results-oriented approach, will be best poised for success. This position reports to the VP Marketing.
7- 10 years experience in Media and Public Relations
Bachelors’ degree required
5 years of Strategic Digital experience managing and development key consumer brand websites
Intermediate to Advanced PC skills (MS Word, Microsoft Outlook Calendar & E-Mail, Excel, Power Point, internet
Excellent organizational skills with avid attention to detail and follow through.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication, negotiation skills.
Excellent personal manner, outgoing personality, comfortable dealing with many external contacts and representing Kerastase / Shu to the media, salon owners and partners, and other influencers in a positive light.
Daily reactive and proactive contact with outside Agencies, trade and consumer editors or bloggers - including sending press releases, product and follow up to ensure placement
Primary responsibility for all internal communications, including: Kerastase website, Social Network Sites, Communiqué, En --Direct; Planet L'Oreal USA and other internal channels
Daily contact with PR agency /Consultant to help manage projects and insure coverage
Oversee press mailings, presentations for launches and showcase events
Input on strategic communications plans for launches, special events, overall
