Salary: NZD70000 - NZD80000 per annum + Car

This market leader in Asbestos Removal and Demolition are on the lookout for an experienced Asbestos Supervisor for the Wellington Region and surrounding areas. A number of massive projects have been brought into the picture and require the right candidate with specific qualifications and skill set. 

My client is a big time player in the market and are involved in remediation and consultancy projects. They are looking to appoint a motivated and driven individual who will have to be hands on and willing to get stuck in with projects while managing, training and guiding junior employees.

Role responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

  • Estimate length of time, number of workers, and equipment and supplies required to accomplish projects
  • Review job specifications, inspect work site, and confer with contracting agent to evaluate removal project
  •  Examine workers' equipment, such as respirator systems, air evacuation and filtration systems, and air quality testing devices
  • Ensure that projects meet company and government safety standards
  • Hire new workers and instructs workers in safety and removal procedures

Requirements for this role will include:

  • Asbestos Certificate of Competence/Class A or B licence (or equivalent), or similar Australian /International qualifications
  • Strong experience in safe handling and removal of asbestos
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety aspects in Construction
  • Additional qualifications e.g. working at heights, confined spaces, DG driving are a definite advantage
  • Hardworking, reliable and the ability to supervise and work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and diligent in completing safety and operations documentation
  • Current Drivers Licence

As a senior candidate from the industry you will be responsible for timesheet management, making sure the staff have completed relevant/necessary training and regular toolbox meetings.
