Location: London Rathbone Place
Welcome to HIVE!
Our work plays a daily role in one of the most intimate and personal environments, the home. We’re looking for people have a keen interest in software and IOT. Most importantly, people who are naturally empathetic, creative and have a deep care for making those everyday interactions around the home, brilliant through Hive.
Why you should Join the Team at HIVE
Our team (Product Design) consists of designers and researchers, operating under a semi-centralised model. That means you’ll be working across multiple squads and contributing towards an overarching experience strategy that transcends an expanding range of hardware and service offerings, via our web and mobile apps. Though, from time to time, you may be dedicated to a particular area of focus
We’re a closely knit creative community, so we’re looking for team players. People who are comfortable with sharing and listening to others. Though we flex our time between our team (Product Design), squads and independent projects, we meet regularly to discuss ideas and share work.
The team is currently built on a flat reporting structure, though you may have an assigned leader on a project/ or lead a project yourself, you’ll report directly to the Head of Product Design.
What does your new role at HIVE involve?
As a User Researcher, you’ll partner with our Product Designers, Product Managers and other colleagues around Hive to answer challenging questions for our digital products, services, and hardware.
Your role will be to help ask the hard questions, through research that explores our user’s needs, behaviors and motivations. Together, with your colleagues you’ll help shape beautiful, intuitive, accessible and elegant product experiences for Hive’s customers.
You’ll be responsible for championing user needs, establishing and advocating user-centric methodologies and deliver insights to both your direct colleagues within Product Design, as well as Product Managers, Software Engineers, and many others.
What will you bring to the HIVE team?
Communication and collaboration will be an essential part of your professional make-up. You’ll have a natural desire to talk with Product Designers, Researchers, Products Managers and others around the business to identify research opportunities and form research plans to support those around you in helping to deliver a great user experience.
