Our client is a specialised contractor with over 50 years’ experience operating in a niche end of the infrastructure sector, they have completed some of the most significant water infrastructure projects in New Zealand and have a massive pipeline of projects fast approaching in various locations throughout the country.
They are known for having a great company culture, an ability to retain staff and regularly promote internally so this is a great opportunity to progress career. They have the need for an experienced Senior Foreman to join their Auckland team.
Duties:
- Reports to the Supervisor, unless one has not been one appointed, then report to the Project Manager
- Ensures all site personnel attend weekly safety meetings, including subcontractors.
- Supervises the workforce on an hour by hour basis
- Supervises health and safety
- Assists in the production of the site safety plan
- Controls the identification and classification of hazards
- Ensure all practical steps are taken to eliminate or isolate hazards
- In conjunction with the Project Manager puts in place methods of isolating hazards which cannot be dealt with in other ways
- Checks all work methods to ensure personnel have the right personnel protective equipment
- Compiles and keeps all contract safety paperwork
- Overviews site induction
- Assists with programming
- Controls hourly paid employees time keeping
- Co-ordinates quality testing and checking
- Site general safety
- Site security
- Assists with training
To be successful:
- You will need to have significant experience with retaining walls, bulk earthworks, land development and civil infrastructure projects
- You will need current WTR
- You will need a proven track record of successfully working on large civil projects in New Zealand
- You must currently be in New Zealand and be eligible to work without sponsorship
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a highly experienced Site Foreman with a proven track record of previously working on high-profile civil projects. You will need to be very self-motivated, with the ability to organise and motivate the work force to perform to their full potential.
In return for your hard work and dedication you will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package, circa $120k per anum + vehicle, dependent on your experience and expertise.
