Technical Writer - Lackland AFB, TX
•Develops, writes, and edits materials for IT-related reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instructional material, catalogs, technical publications, and software and hardware documentation, including DIACAP packages and portfolios
•Apply documentation to new and already developed source code that will facilitate any changes in the code in the future as additional upgrades become necessary
•Formulates requirement documents as required and assigned
•Coordinates projects with project teams and section Chief
•Interfaces with users, specialists, analysts, and application developers to obtain background information on IT technologies, methods, and standards
•Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
•Assist in the development of tutorials and other materials (power point slides, videos and handouts) as needed to teach the use of the product
•Conduct or otherwise facilitate training in the use of the product via either larger or small group teaching sessions
•Reviews technical material and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content and methods of reproduction and binding
•Centralize and maintain all documentation of all software developed and used
•Conduct user-level Beta testing of the software in various stages of software development or purchase to help discover errors in the code and recommend enhancements to the product
•Meets stipulated deadlines for producing written documentation (in appropriate format) for various software projects delivered
•Works with programmers developing help screens and source code documentation as projects
•Organizes and maintains technical documents on SharePoint sites to include local office home pages and project tracking sites

Qualifications:
•Associates in Applied Science (AAS) or two years equivalent experience within Computer Science or Information Technology Field
•Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years
•Shall have and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
 

Physical Requirement

•Provide proof of or consent to immunization for the following diseases: Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (TDAP), Tuberculosis (TB), HIV (Contractor Personnel who have direct patient care) and influenza for all personnel prior to start date
•If an individual has a past positive TB skin test, the Contractor shall provide proof of a negative chest X-ray within twelve (12) months
