My client is one of the most successful IT consultancy firms in the world. They help their clients run their businesses more efficiently and innovatively, and are seeking a talented and passionate Big Data Lead to join them on a two year project.

 

About the Big Data Development Lead Role:

As a Big Data Development Lead, you will work alongside a Big Data Engineer to work on the continuing design, build and commission and test of the company’s clients’ Big Data Platform.

You will have experience in Hadoop and have a deep understanding of Object-Oriented design and extensive knowledge of Java, Big Data and Hadoop technologies.

When carrying out this role, the successful candidate will be developing data ingestion pipelines with Java/ Scala, Kafka, Samsa and Hbase. Not only this, but the candidate will be required to carry out Agile Development, 3rd Line Support, Continuous Integration, and Unit Testing & Documentation.

 

Essential Skills:

  • Hbase

  • Past experience of managing Big Data team

  • Strong Communication Skills

  • Experience working within a Scrum team and be familiar with

This is a 2-year contract, and the rate of pay is £655 p/d. All candidates MUST be eligible for SC Clearance. This role is OUTSIDE IR35 regulations.
