Senior Vehicle Dynamics Engineer
Reporting to the Head of Vehicle Dynamics, the successful candidate will provide race car simulation and data analysis as part of the Vehicle Performance Group. The candidate will have extensive knowledge of vehicle dynamics modelling and data analysis in the Automotive industry, have excellent report writing and communication skills to work effectively with engineering teams across the business. Candidates must be qualified to degree level in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering and have experience with Matlab and Simulunk.
Core Tasks:
• Create, develop and use both whole-vehicle and subsystem models as we build the vehicle dynamics tool chain
• Validating vehicle models against rig and track data
• Analysing and summarising track, rig and simulator data
• Occasional attendance at track tests and external simulator sessions and rig tests Measures of Success:
• Develop vehicle dynamics models from basic concept to validated simulation with tight and inflexible deadlines.
• Work both independently and within a small group of engineers.
• Reliably interact with internal and external clients Key Relationships:
The successful candidate will need to collaborate closely with other members of the Vehicle Performance team, the Head of Vehicle Performance, Race Engineering, Electronics, Design and wider engineering team(s). Excellent verbal and report writing skills are essential as well as a proactive approach to information gathering and the ability to work unsupervised when necessary. General Provisions:

• A good Bachelors degree in either Mechanical, Aeronautical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering Successful candidates will be
• Competent at developing and validating vehicle models
• Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of ground vehicle dynamics theory
• Experience with Math works tools - Matlab and Simulink competency essential
• Excellent at communicating and working within a small group and with external clients
• Excellent attention to detail and drive to achieve the right result for the team
• Able to succinctly communicate/translate complex technical information verbally and in writing
• Flexible both in mindset and readiness to work a wide variety of working hours and reliable
• Able to demonstrate personal drive, initiative and self-motivation
• Able to follow procedures/processes

Extensive experience of working in vehicle dynamics modelling & data analysis in the Automotive field Developed basic vehicle models from first principles using high or low level programming Validated models against real-world data Successfully worked within a small team Desirable
Engineering experience within high level motorsport Use of lap simulations or other vehicle modelling tools Programming experience in C, C++ and/or Visual Basic .NET A sound understanding of the automotive tyre – ideally some experience of tyre modelling Multi Body Simulation software experience – SIMPACK or ADAMS is highly desirable
