The Catastrophe Forecasting and Analysis Dept. of the Global Catastrophe Operations of AIG Property Casualty has an opening for a Business Analyst. This person will be a major participant in some of for the CFA Dept.s primary business activities related to natural catastrophes (“CATs”) including: 1) CAT Loss Estimate Reporting; 2) Dept. of Insurance CAT Loss Reporting; 3) CAT information communications; and 4) CAT loss estimate repository and reporting process (Cognos application). This person will be located in Olathe, Kansas.


1) Drafting data call emails and sending to Claims contacts requesting specific CAT loss estimate information
2) Using the eRoom application to create CAT loss estimate databases matching CAT specific or quarterly data calls
3) Tracking responses and following-up as required to ensure specified deadlines are met
4) Exporting CAT loss estimate data from one or many databases into a spreadsheet and conducting quality control prior to uploading into specific reporting formats
5) Preparing and quality control checking CAT loss estimate reports for review
6) Changing data fields and report structure as required
7) Preparing final data for download into repository and related reporting (Cognos application)
8) Assisting with Dept. of Insurance CAT loss reporting process as required
9) Assisting with weekend and holiday media watch to identify natural catastrophes or Major Loss Events
10) training new participants, enter data into a database and update contact lists;

1) college graduate with 5 to 7 years business experience;

2) detail oriented, organized, precise and methodical;

3) good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
