Position Summary:

The Personal Lines Underwriting Training Manager, reporting to AVP of Consumer Lines Training Americas, is responsible for providing standardized training programs/curriculum for underwriting staff to improve quality, increase efficiency, and ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance guidelines. This role assesses training needs and implements high quality training programs utilizing various modalities such as instructor-led, structured on the job training, eLearning, and performance support. This position is also responsible for competency development, performance management, needs assessment, benchmarking, new hire training, new product training, coaching, and facilitation. This position requires travel to field locations.

The Ideal Candidate Should Have:

-Bachelor’s degree.

-6+ years experience in Personal Lines Underwriting, 3+ years experience in a formal training role.

-Comprehensive knowledge of Personal Lines underwriting rules, principles, practices, and procedures.

-Strong facilitation/presentation skills.

-Strong project planning and organizational skills.

-Strong quantitative and analytical skills including the ability to develop appropriate recommendations.

-Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management and staff.

-Ability to prioritize projects and work independently.

-Ability to travel.

-Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design principles and proven track record of creating and implementing successful learning solutions at an enterprise level.

-Experience managing a project team consisting of subject matter experts and instructional designers and developers.

-Knowledgeable in current and training trends and learning technologies.
