As Staff Writer you’ll write passionate and informative copy for PCGamer.com and the magazine, including news, features, previews and reviews.
You’ll maintain the daily news feed on PCGamer.com, writing news and features and promoting the content through PC Gamer’s social media channels. You’ll produce sparkling copy and generate engaging, inventive feature ideas for the website and the magazine, and have the opportunity to review new game releases. You will also act as an ambassador for the brand, attending industry events, interviewing developers and building productive industry relationships in the process.
We are looking for someone hungry for a challenge with a passion and real enthusiasm for PC gaming. Whether you’re an experienced published writer or talented new voice, you’ll have a willingness to grow and develop under the guidance of PC Gamer’s world-class editorial team. The ideal candidate will have an excellent command of written English, and have the ability to write quick, accurate and entertaining copy. You will also have the ability to research stories and features, finding interesting and unique angles to help set PC Gamer’s content apart from the crowd.
With high personal standards for your written work, you’ll also have strong organisational and administration skills with the ability to work under pressure to daily and monthly deadlines. You’ll have great social skills and the confidence to build a contact book of people in the games industry, development circles and fan communities. You will also need to be able to travel internationally and be flexible and willing to work extra hours on deadline if required.
