Position Summary:

As a Senior Hearing Representative in our Claims division, you will independently analyze, evaluate and prepare cases at all levels of complexity/severity for depositions or Board hearings, and appear at hearings on behalf of the company/insured, as jurisdictionally permitted, and within the provisions of the insurance contract and in accordance with fair claims practices acts and company policies.

Performance Objectives:

-Identifies all legal issues and aggressively pursues a favorable resolution.

-Prepares legal documents in accordance with the court or Board rules.

-Manages assigned cases by coordinating with involved parties to develop a cost effective litigation plan.

-Demonstrates a technical competence in applying the law, regulations and rulings to the facts of each case.

-Coordinates and resolves outstanding liens from medical providers/vendors for the purpose of cost savings/reduction for company.

Ideal Candidate Should Have:

-Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience.

-Preferred Local State licensing or individual State certifications (i.e. Workers Compensation Claims Professional [California]), or equivalent experience.

-Thorough knowledge of various workers’ compensation rules, regulations, and case law for their respective jurisdiction.

-Advanced experience in legal and procedural aspects of hearings.

-Proficient oral and written communication skills.

-Proficient problem solving, time management and organizational skills.

-Advanced technical knowledge of law, regulations, case rulings and medical and legal terminology.
