Director of Training (PCK333-215452) New York County, New York
Collaborate with Senior Product Line Officers, Chief Underwriting Officer and subject matter experts to provide training for Casualty Product Line Underwriting.
Identify high-impact opportunities to provide improved underwriting support and tools.
Responsible for research, needs analysis, and evaluation of training and performance improvement programs as required by supporting businesses.
Partner with Learning and Development Center of Excellence to identify the most effective learning solution.
Develop a full range curriculum for the Casualty Underwriting staff in partnership with Global Casualty Training Lead leveraging existing courses wherever possible
Communicate specific Commercial Underwriting training opportunities available within the AIG Learning Management System.
Monitor program effectiveness based on feedback from participants and managers.
Monitor and measure impact on RAP, Chartis Compliance, Chartis Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance through various training metrics (e.g., underwriting authority, audit scores).
Adhere to local and regional rules, regulations and policies.
Partner with global technical trainers to ensure consistency of training solutions.
Responsible for prioritizing training needs and projects within approved departmental budget.
Strategic orientation, managing vision and purpose, developing organizational capability.
Ability to analyze problems from both a big picture, macro level perspective, and from a field underwriter’s micro level perspective.
Ability to think outside the box in coming up with solutions to problems.
Strong influencing and communications skills and ability to work across multiple areas of the company.
Ability to assemble and lead a team of people who are not direct reports, in tackling and solving a problem.
Initiative to see a problem and figure out what needs to be done, and do it. Not waiting for directions from above.
Ability to manage direct report employees as needed.
Technical Skills and Experience:
Bachelor degree preferred.
10-15 years of technical training experience.
Strong initiative; results oriented; proven organization skill.
Ability to plan and execute a multi-phase project over an extended period of time.
Ability to work to and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Client focus with good interpersonal skills.
Ability to create training material on complex topics.
Ability to effectively explain and teach technical topics.
Proficient\cy in Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel as required.
