Salary: Łcompetitive with benefits Future has an exciting new, innovative, craft launch planned. As a result, we are looking for a driven, ambitious Editor to help choose and shape the editorial product, write technical instructions, work with our Multimedia studio to produce short how-to videos, manage workflow and ultimately deliver a market-leading craft launch against a challenging schedule.
As Editor, you’ll be ultimately responsible for liaising with the Publisher to develop and execute the long term publishing strategy for the title. This will involve continuingly developing the title through the accurate targeting and appropriate execution of editorial. A key objective is to increase circulation to a level at which the brand is published successfully and profitably as part of the group’s portfolio.
You’ll have a passion for, and good understanding of a wide variety of crafts, with a good basic technical understanding of most crafting techniques plus the ability to rapidly absorb and apply new craft-related, technical information.
To secure this high profile Editor role, you will need excellent editorial skills, including writing, subediting and video presentation plus excellent knowledge and understanding of website publishing and other digital channels including social networks. Strong organisational skills, being able to schedule and manage a rigorous daily workload and good communication skills are also important for this role.
Previous experience at Editor, Technical Editor or Deputy Editor level or above on a specialist consumer magazine or website and an ability to think commercially are necessary for this role. It would also be advantageous if you are already working within the Craft sector.
