Digital Sales Manager (9906526) Rochester, New York

This position offers you the opportunity to lead a vibrant, digitally-focused advertising sales team and get in on the ground floor of an exciting initiative to re-create the leading media company in Central New York. As Local Market Manager, you will act as a coach and mentor to your team of Account Executives, providing guidance on our consultative needs-based selling approach. You'll leverage your strong sales background and proven leadership skills as you work hands-on with your team to develop customized, targeted multimedia solutions from a broad, diverse portfolio of exceptional products and the most recognized local print and online brand in the Syracuse area. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Five to seven years of successful sales experience, and a proven track record of leading a sales team. A background in media and/or advertising will be helpful.
  • Experience managing a pipeline of business.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of needs-based selling.
  • Proven success in increasing sales in a competitive marketplace.
  • Experience with prospecting, cold calling, networking and building meaningful relationships with key decision makers.
  • A passion for advertising and all things digital (e.g., social media, SEO/SEM, technology, etc.)
  • CRM sales management software experience with a leading platform; salesforce.com is preferable.
