Charles River Development Developer Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a CRD Developer for an opportunity in Boston, MA. The CRD Developer will be responsible for helping with enhancements and new development related to Charles River Investment Management and proprietary end user applications. He or she will use .NET/C# and SQL along with HTML5 and Java technologies, and will need an in depth working knowledge of the Charles River IMS and familiarity with OMS and the financial industry. The CRD Developer will apply technical competency with Microsoft server operating systems, development, and database technologies to resolve support issues. This position puts the individual in contact with all areas of the organization, a successful candidate will be able to handle project-based tasks as well as handle day-to-day issues escalated from the service desk team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line functional and technical application support for Income portfolio management and trading systems
  • Have detailed knowledge of all business flows, the application architecture and the hardware configuration for supported applications
  • Respond to user inquiries, investigate and resolve system issues or performance problems, escalate when necessary
  • Debug, fix and resume batch processing or scheduling problems
  • Manage system configuration
  • Programming/scripting
  • Maintain business continuity / disaster recovery regimens and oversee annual testing
  • Application release management
  • Modification and enhancement of daily jobs / processes
  • Application unit and regression testing
  • Liaise with internal development teams to troubleshoot software problems and identify solutions
  • Create ad-hoc interfaces, feeds file extracts using scripting tools or programming languages
  • Code quality by focusing on code analysis, unit testing, performance tuning, test strategy and execution

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years providing front-line application development for portfolio management and trading systems
  • Solid technical background analyzing, testing, or developing client-server based and web-based products
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server programming including stored procedures, functions, views, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Visual Studio tools
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Management Studio
  • Strong knowledge of.NET/Java
  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Excel (including VBA)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server Management
  • Strong knowledge of Batch auto scheduling
  • Complete understanding of incident, problem and change management principles
  • Strong initiative, organization, and excellent analysis/problem solving/troubleshooting skills required
  • Excellent communication skills and written skills with the ability to interact with various lines of businesses and support groups within the organization
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a small fast paced diverse team
  • Experience with Overnight Cycles
  • Experience with Update Varden View Reports
  • Experience with Workflow Management
  • Experience with FX Insight
  • Ability to interact with portfolio managers and traders, understand problems and concisely and precisely communicate solutions
  • Understanding of the portfolio management and trading business and Investment Management industry
