We are currently looking for two full time Social Workers to work on the Adult Safeguarding Team, this opportunity is to cover two maternity leave posts we have available from November 2017. The posts will be an exciting opportunity to enhance current skills and develop personal knowledge around Adult Safeguarding in the context of the Care Act 2014. The posts are based at Castle Hill within the MASSS (Multi-Agency Screening and Safeguarding Service)
One posts will be for 37 hours per week.
As a member of the Safeguarding Team, you will work across all 3 districts of the Borough; responding to safeguarding concerns and promoting positive relationships with provider services, agencies and other teams.
You will need to hold a social work degree/or social work qualification and have up to date HCPC registration.
You will have a wide range of social care experience of working with adults. You will be expected to manage a number of different referrals incorporating a variety of screening focused roles. The successful candidate will be allocated roles, which they will manage independently and prioritise accordingly. There is a need to be flexible in approach and adaptable in ability. The team often work under pressure with demanding timeframes.
A significant part of your role will be to identify risks to the individual/carer’s and respond appropriately and in real-time, thus ensuring safeguarding concerns are addressed. Other areas of work include substance misuse, homelessness, domestic violence and identifying learning difficulty.
You must hold a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and be HCPC registered. Additionally, you must have at least two years post qualifying experience and be able to provide five years of references.
