Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Electrical Maintenance Engineer (EN/12553) Central Belt, Scotland

Cathcart Energy are recruiting for an experienced Service Engineer to work with a client based in Central Scotland. The main function of the role is to provide and execute essential crane maintenance and repairs as part of the company’s projects team to the Oil & Gas, Marine and Wind Industry sectors in the UK, Offshore and Overseas.

 

Due to the nature of the position you will be willing to travel to locations across the UK and offshore, as required by the client’s customers. There is no limitation on candidate’s location however you will be on standby to travel with short notice when on company time. The contracted hours will be 40 per week and overtime will be available when required. The client will provide the necessary offshore accreditations for offshore work.

 

This role would be suited to an experienced Electro-mechanical Engineer, preferably with hydraulic experience within the Energy or Power Generation Industry.

 

Key Tasks:

  • Promote the sale of the company’s products and services
  • Service and maintain lifting equipment sold or supported by the company
  • Conduct safety checks and risk assessments prior to each project
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of cranes and davits
  • Record accurate inspection findings and liaise with customers and projects department
  • Ensure projects are correctly signed off
  • Accurately record time taken to complete projects and replacement parts used
  • Repair faults in accordance with project instructions
  • Submission of detailed reports on projects completed
  • Accurate paperwork relating to projects completed

 

Other Tasks

  • To be courteous at all time to customers and fellow employees.
  • Attend product training
  • Comply with health and safety in accordance with company procedures
  • Understand and follow the company’s business management systems
  • Perform other related duties as required, which may include multi-skilled activities

 

 

Required experience/qualifications:

  • Recognised Electrical apprenticeship NVQ/SVQ 3 or Mechanical equivalent
  • PLC programming and fault-finding experience
  • Inspection and Testing Experience
  • Mechanical experience and ability to work on own initiative
  • Service and repair of equipment in the field
  • Working on AC/DC low voltage control systems
  • Working on single & 3 phase systems
  • An understanding of hydraulic systems
  • Mobile crane/static or similar types of equipment
  • Strong understanding and awareness of health and safety on site
  • Ability to work in a multi-skilled environment
  • Full Driving Licence

 

Desirable:

  • HNC electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations Certificate or equivalent
  • Industrial electrical experience
  • 2391/2394 and 2395 Test and Inspection (or equivalent)
  • GWO Certified
  • BOSIET Certified
