Description:

Under general supervision, this position will be responsible for translating business analytical needs into technical requirements. He or She will be responsible for the extraction, transformation and loading of JDE, Legacy and other System objects into an Enterprise Data Warehouse and accompanying Data Marts.

The position will also be creating functional specs for business user queries and reports in the areas of Finance, Supply Chain, Sales and Manufacturing. Develop and generate process flows, analysis and layout from verbal and/or written instructions on company processes.

Make recommendations to transform the as-is to for-be flows, wants and needs in the area of Enterprise Reporting.

Participates in user interviews to understand business objectives, gather and analyze business requirements and performs the work required to meet the business and reporting objectives.

This position is responsible for generating and analyzing reports and queries that provide the business with tools to model business information for business decisions or design Logical Business Data Models that effectively represent the business requirements, for adding or changing data in the data warehouse, and facilitate the use and sharing of data across the company.

Work with business intelligence developers and end users on user specifications assuring proper solutions are developed and tested for user review.

The appropriate candidate will provide support for enhancing the data warehouse to report on operational statistics/performance results, create and enhance scorecards/dashboards, build data marts (using COGNOS or OBIEE), and strategic planning for predictive analytics and technical/tool refreshes.

Advise in creation of extract and transformation routines using Oracle OBIEE or IBM COGNOS.

Must have a solid conceptual understanding of an ERP system such as Oracle JD Edwards, definition of a data warehouse environment, architecture and basic building block components.

Advise methods of streamlining and solidifying existing processes.

Support IT application group using analytical skills Remain knowledgeable of IT and company business operations and processes.

Create and maintain all project related documentation.

Requirements:
Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Management, Statistics, or Mathematics with 3-5 years of experience with Cognos or Oracle OBIEE is preferred.

Demonstrated excellent analytical skills with clear understanding of design goals of ER modeling for OLAP and dimension modeling for Data Warehouse. 5-7 years of demonstrated Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse (BI/DW) experience involving multiple major development projects.

Successfully developed and implemented new technologies and work processes.

Demonstrated high competency in working with and leading small teams of global (on-shore and off-shore) resources.

Experience in leading high-performance teams implementing BI/DW projects.

Demonstrated competency in defining requirements, design, development, and testing IT projects.

Experience in project planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of integrated online relational database systems across multiple hardware and software platforms.

Experience in the consumer products industry preferred, or in a production/service environment similar to that of Ventura Foods.

Minimum of 7+ years Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing experience, including;

experience in logical, access, and physical data modeling;

hands-on design experience with data warehouse, business intelligence and analytics products;

and experience with implementing normalized and dimensional data warehouses.

Experience with ERP system such as JD Edwards is strongly preferred.

Project management experience is strongly preferred.

Comprehensive knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis, and design and programming techniques.

Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and IS project life cycle methodologies.

Deep Knowledge of data warehouse, data mining, online reporting portals.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles and business processes.

Business process knowledge of manufacturing/service organizations.

Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs, developing and delivering projects using (where appropriate) leading-edge technology.

Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for a variety of projects.

Strong business planning skills, and project planning skills, effectively arranging resources and managing multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
