THE POSITION:

Castle Hospitality division are recruiting for a full-time Kitchen Porter for a local unique hospitality client based on the beautiful outskirts of Thirsk, North Yorkshire area.

Our client is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join their catering team who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, working as part of a lively busy team. This role will include some weekend working.

The service operates a two-shift system; you will be required to work 5 days over 7, 7:00am to 3:30pm covering breakfast and lunch, and 12:15pm to 8:45pm covering lunch and supper.

Working in the kitchen areas, undertaking a range of duties ensuring continuity of light and heavy equipment and the cleanliness of the environment. Demonstrating all due care to safer practice for all relevant Health & Safety legislation. Satisfy all criteria and checks relating to suitability to work in a school environment.

Main Duties:

  • Manual and mechanical washing of tins and pans
  • Cleaning of heavy equipment in a timely manner ensuring ready for use at the required times
  • Safe use of cleaning chemicals
  • Maintaining general cleanliness of the kitchen area
  • Assisting with basic food production when required
  • Removal of waste from the kitchen areas into appropriate areas including use of a compactor
  • Maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of external area
  • Use of mechanical dishwasher
  • Attending training sessions as required
  • Undertake any reasonable requests made by managers and commensurate to the role
