Solutions Architect Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Solutions Architect for an opportunity in St. Louis, MO. Our client is in need of a Solutions Architect for a strategic, global, cross-functional, enterprise initiative, focused on building out our Digital Delivery Framework Ecosystem.

The Global Digital Delivery initiative is an enterprise-wide transformation project that will establish and embed product development, management, and cross-organization delivery capabilities across the enterprise thereby enabling RGA to create and support commercially competitive products and services into the future.

Responsibilities:

• Working in partnership with other professional services providers, lead, and deliver upon program goals and such as:
  • Provide thought leadership on the Technology Workstream and deliverables.
  • Develop and document engagement and operating models to effectively communicate technology strategies and concepts.
  • Develop a catalog of all current state systems and services.
  • Drive the Product and Services SLA Framework and Process.
  • Assess current state Service Level Agreements and design, develop, and implement digital Service Level Agreement Framework and processes that adhere to business needs and target state roadmap.
• In partnership with other professional services providers, defines vision for technical solution. Facilitates a technology approach to requested new systems that optimizes use of technology while minimizing total cost of ownership.
• In partnership with other professional services providers, define principles, guidelines, and standards to ensure solution decisions are aligned with enterprise future state architecture vision.
• Identify organizational impacts (required skill, processes, frameworks, strategies, and culture) of solution recommendations and communicate to Program Manager.
• International Travel may be required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years IT experience including 5+ years working on large, complex development projects and/or in application development and support leadership positions.
• Highly advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received.
• Highly advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable / accepted solutions.
• Expert, with hands on experience in multiple industries and across several platforms – Oracle, IBM and Microsoft architectures (J2EE and .NET), Service Oriented Architecture and/or frameworks, Enterprise Application Integration frameworks.
• Expertise and multiple development techniques including: Java, C# / .Net, web-based application and services development; BPM / workflow / rules engines; application integration and data integration platforms; multi-tiered, layered, and partitioned application architectures; SOA; interactive / transaction / batch modes of processing.
• Expert in the implementation and usage of multiple software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and Iterative methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in selection, adoption, and usage of application development tools, to include: IDEs, continuous build, source code control and application lifecycle management tools as well as Object Oriented I Analysis / Object Oriented Design tools and test tools / frameworks.
• Experience building and designing architectural blueprints for modern, micro-service based platforms
• Experience working with cloud services (AWS, Google, or Azure)
• Experience using Open Source and proprietary tooling
• Experience architecting in solution stacks like LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) or MEAN (MongoDB, Express.js, AngularJS, Node.js)
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of REST web services implementation
• Highly advanced investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management
• Ability to quickly learn and understand the business of RGA

Preferred:

• MBA and/or Master’s degree
• 3-5 years of experience in application architecture
• Insurance industry knowledge
• Global experience
• Commercial product development experience
