Training and Development Officer

An experienced Training and Development Officer is required on a fixed term contract of 2 months for a global market leading laboratory business based in York, North Yorkshire.

This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is an experienced trainer or an HR professional who is wanting to really hit the ground running as a 360 trainer, who can really make a difference to this business and their training plans. There is an opportunity for the contract to be extended and this position is immediately available for the successful Training and Development Officer.

They provide laboratory services globally, along with investigator sites which have given them a broad range of worldwide experience and a really in-depth understanding of different region requirements.

Job Role:

As the training and development officer you will be supporting the onsite managers to deliver effectively, efficient training inclusive of starter inductions, SOPs and technical operational. You will be responsible for the training budget inclusive of Levy. As this is a global business you will work with the global training team to make sure that there is consistency within any training delivered whilst complying with UK rules and regulations. You will be part of the HR Team, reporting directly to the HR Manager.

As the Training and Development Officer your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and creating training sessions
  • Delivery of training to all learning styles
  • Budget management
  • Identify issues, problems as well as opportunities, analyse the cause and effect, practically solve problems and implement corrective strategies
  • Ensuring there is compliance with the current regulatory legislation and employment law
  • Making sure all training is demonstratively understood recorded

Requirements:

If you have worked as a training and development officer, learning and development officer, training officer or you are an HR professional with great proven experience of training others and are now wanting to make this your specialism then I would love to have a chat with you. Ideally you will have a trainer qualification such as CIPD or ILM or have completed short courses such as train the trainer but equally, I would like to speak with you if you have had a lot of experience of 360 training as well. I would be particularly interested to speak with you if your experience of training has been within Pharmaceutical, Health care, Medical, FMCG, Manufacturing or Science.

As this role is a fixed term contract you will need to be able to hit the ground running and be confident with all aspects of training, inclusive of design & delivery and be comfortable with compliance training where you will need to report back to an external auditor.
