Business Analyst

Business Analyst Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Business Analyst for an opportunity in Charlotte, NC. The primary responsibility of the BA will be to provide technical systems and software support for modification, implementation, or conversion of business systems. He or she will work closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into working technical designs and that test plans and scripts serve customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the process of translating business needs into formal Business Requirements deliverables.
  • Acts as liaison between business unit and software, hardware developers and vendors.
  • Participates in design, development and implementation of complex applications or systems, often using new technologies.
  • Serves as a fully seasoned, proficient technical resource.
  • Participates as an individual contributor on projects, completing activities as a part of a team related to special initiatives or operations.
  • Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities, typically as an individual contributor.
  • Often provides oversight and guidance to more junior business and systems analysts.
  • Assemble, analyze, and represent business requirements, develop detailed functional specifications including data and function models, process flow diagrams, and report and screen layouts.
  • Document algorithms and operational requirements, identify logical system architecture, and specify system interfaces.
  • Drive out process design, lead business requirement/Agile Story development
  • Maintain Business Requirements Documents in-line with requirements from business SMEs and execute project related documentation (Requirements, Permit to build, Permit to operate).
  • Facilitate workshops such as JAD sessions

Requirements:

  • IT degree preferred or substantially equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5-7 years of applicable experience.
  • Prior experience with requirements gathering to translate business needs into technical requirements and ensure all systems conform to the business needs and specifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience facilitating workshops such as JAD sessions with business and technical Subject Matter Experts
  • Knowledge of business process and technology development
  • Knowledge delivering within both a Waterfall and Agile development environment
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with mainframe and mid-range applications
  • Risk Awareness – Awareness and proactive management of risk
  • Demonstrates leadership and problem solving abilities
  • Strong drive for results and self-motivation
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in order to meet tight deadlines
