Salary: USD75000 - USD85000 per year + bonus

Quality Manager

Act as champion to the entire organization to drive a culture of quality ownership by all Safariland associates.  Continuously improve product quality through effective collaboration with local plant management, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain and cost accounting.  Responsibilities include all aspects of product quality from receipt of raw materials, through production and customer usage.  Establish systems to ensure processes are in control and products are compliant with specifications. Maintain and improve the Quality Management System. Establish, track, analyze, and report on key quality metrics including CoPQ.  Use problem-solving skills, teamwork skills and the ISO based Quality Management System to drive continuous improvement.

  • Experience and ability to lead and implement a cultural change to a quality driven business management system
  • Experience and ability to deal with a variety of people and difficult situations
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System
  • Integrate the ISO process into the Quality Management System as a day to day quality assurance and improvement tool
  • Working with plant management, create a user friendly quality improvement culture
  • Create and deliver ongoing training programs for all employees
  • Be fully involved in new product introductions to ensure processes are in control and suitable quality specifications defined
  • Review current processes and equipment to ensure it is in control and adjust accordingly
  • Address customer quality issues and use the data to drive improvement on the floor
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams to solve quality problems
  • Establish, track, analyze, and report on key quality metrics. 
  • Address day-to-day quality issues
  • Lead Internal Auditor
  • Liaison with 3rd party auditors/Management Representative for ISO9000
  • Manage document control
  • Manage the calibration system
  • Review the status and results of the Quality System periodically with management
  • Implement and maintain vendor management programs
  • Work with Regional Manager, QA and other QA managers to drive companywide standardization
  • Assist in development and management of local budget
  • Lead, mentor, and coach local QA team
  • Ability to implement Kaizen, 5S and 8D initiatives
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years experience in Quality Assurance
  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in Management
  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in Quality Engineering preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Engineering
  • Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred
  • ASQ certification is a plus
