PROFILE DESCRIPTION

Job Title .NET developer
Department/Location IT / Brussels

GENERAL TASKS OF .NET DEVELOPER :
The .NET Developer is in charge for the technical design and development of applications with an eye towards simplicity, reliability, manageability, maintainability, extensibility, performance, and re-use according to agreed timelines and budgets in order to support the core business processes of the Organization in line with the business needs and quality requirements.
He/she works collaboratively with technical and business team members to develop and maintain business solutions.


CURRENT MISSION EXPECTATIONS
You will be allocated to an application team responsible to maintain, enhance, or upgrade applications related to short-term balancing activities for gas and power markets.

Your main activities are:

•Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
•Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
•Integrate data storage solutions
•Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
•Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
•Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
•Provides technical expertise in the areas of architecture, design, implementation, and testing
•Writes automated test cases in addition to production code


TECHNICAL BACKGROUND EXPECTED
As a prerequisite to becoming our .net developer, You :

•Hold a higher degree in Information Technology or related and have at least 5 years of relevant experience;
•Strong knowledge of .NET web framework
•Proficient in C#, with a good knowledge of their ecosystems
•Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
•Skill for writing reusable libraries
•Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
•Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database
•Experience with popular web application frameworks
•Familiarity with Windows Presentation Framework such as Infragistics
•Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code
•Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable application
•Experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
•Basic understanding of Common Language Runtime (CLR), its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds
•Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
•Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as SVN
•Experience with Jenkins for build and deployment
