Academic Channel Manager (SCI00106) Waltham, Massachusetts

Reporting to the Sr. Channel Manager, the Academic Channel Manager develops and nurtures a strategic base of global resellers and  academic accounts that provide a unique competitive advantage for our books, ebooks, and solutions products.   The Academic Channel Marketing Manager identifies targets, cultivates relationships, and presents key features and benefits of our products to instructors, students and resellers. The Academic Channel Manager defines  strategy for each segment and a plan for servicing them. That strategy includes customer segment goals, account policy, product offering and messaging and sales & marketing programs for specific customer segments. Also responsible for delivering consistent, outstanding sales results and to ensuring that that the accounts/sales reps have the attention and resources needed to achieve sales targets.

Minimum 10 years marketing experience
• Demonstrable experience working with digital and new technologies (for example, apps, ebooks, mobile)
• A strong people manager with proven experience of managing a team of 3 or more
• Demonstrable experience with social media marketing and SEO and well versed in online marketing techniques
• Experience creating marketing plans for new products and delivering required results
• Ability to report on campaign results using ROI metrics
• A strong understanding and experience in: email marketing, direct mail, exhibitions, database marketing, print advertising for trade and non-trade publications, online advertising
• Proven ability to write benefit-driven copy for different target audiences
• Takes responsibility for resolving problems and ensuring outcomes
• Deals with conflict and pressure maturely and rationally
• Has an entrepreneurial attitude
• Learns and adapts as the media industry and business world changes
