Technical Architect – Software – Manchester

Ripe Insurance are working in partnership with Crimson to source multiple highly skilled IT professionals including Business Analysts, Full Stack .Net Developers and BI Analysts to support and successfully deliver their current and upcoming projects.

Ripe is a tech-driven insurance specialist for niche sectors with products including Golf Care, the UK’s number one golf insurance brand. With a 60-strong team, Ripe handles over 200,000 policyholders across its brand portfolio. Over the next 12 months they will be delivering a large migration project, bringing all 14 brands on to a common platform to ensure consistency and an excellent service for their customers.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to define the architecture, validate software designs, adhere to project development processes and best practices around Agile project management. This will include architectural reviews, design reviews, coding and unit testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Use your strong understanding of OO design principles to create custom software solutions
• Take responsibility for defining and maintaining a recognised architecture approach
• Translate the business requirements into systems design
• Collaborate with the organisation to establish the technology strategy at an applications level
• Work closely with the development team to understand the architecture of existing products and systems
• Guide and consult on the creation of technical solutions

Key Skills

• Excellent technical architecture working experience
• Strong understanding of:
  • C# / ASP.NET 3.5 / 4 Development / Architecture
  • NET MVC 3 / 4 – Design Patterns / Framework
  • SQL Server 2008 R2 / 2012 – Design / Modelling / Development
  • Test Driven Development
  • Mocking Framework
  • Agile Methodologies
  • Continuous Integration
  • Dependency Injection
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
