Seeking an experienced software developer to join growing development team focused on building and maintaining a state-of-the-art flood insurance policy processing and claims administration system to offer a fresh solution to the flood insurance industry. The software is delivered via a web-based Service Oriented Architecture model. Core responsibilities of the position include overall web application architecture and design, design and implementation of ASP.NET web forms, related C# code behind/middle tier/database components, as well as application performance analysis and tuning. Must be a self-starter.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with product owners to understand and refine application requirements
  • Design and implement .NET web forms in support of new application features and enhancements
  • Resolve product issues by providing hot fixes and service packs as necessary
  • Leverage skills in ASP, HTML, JavaScript, and SQL in support and enhancement of existing application features
  • Work collaboratively with other development peers to design and implement web-based product features and enhancements
  • Develop functional specifications and technical design documents as required
  • Provide on-going support to corporate staff with application related questions and issues

Qualifications should include:

  • 2+ years of experience developing web applications
  • 1-5 years of experience developing in .NET, particularly ASP.NET and C#
  • Working knowledge of web development technologies such as ASP, HTML and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio development environment
  • BS in Computer Science or related engineering discipline or commensurate professional experience
  • Helpful Experience and Education:
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts and knowledge of T-SQL
  • Experience developing in a team environment leveraging Microsoft Team Foundation Server
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the flood insurance industry
  • Experience with object oriented architecture, methodology, design and development
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies
