We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ability to deliver projects with a minimum of supervision; Demonstrate a track record of electrical and electronic design and design team leadership as well as project management; Ensure that all work produced complies with company, national, industry and project quality requirements, understanding at least the principals of quality assurance and health and safety best practices; Ability to check and review own work and ability to check the work of others; Support the team for various projects ensuring timely and profitable delivery of works, quality of deliverables and budgetary control; Maintain good working relationship with other team members.

Qualifications/Skills required to be successful in this position: B.Eng. in electrical engineering; Registered as EIT or P.Eng. in the Province of Nova Scotia; Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in the field of electrical design engineering and simulation; Working knowledge of CAD (Autodesk/Bentley) with ability to produce CAD drawings; Be familiar with various analysis methods including hand calculations and computer modelling using electrical engineering analysis software; Good skills to assess the functioning of systems, search problems and identify solutions; Team player with strong work ethic; Fluency in English both written and spoken is essential; Ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to work in order to meet the objectives of cost, quality and time; Demonstrate good time management skills and be able to adapt to change; Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills in complex and changing environments; On-site work experience in an industrial environment is an asset; Experience with programmable logic controls (PLC's) and human machine/graphical interface (HMI) software would be an asset.
